These rugged, compact ultrasonic sensors inspired the “ToughSonic” name. They are Senix’s flagship products with heavy-duty electronics epoxy potted into type 316 stainless steel housings, with permanently attached cables and ruggedized piezoelectric transducers. ToughSonic sensors are found on remote monitoring stations from the Australian outback to Alaskan oil fields. They are installed on heavy construction and farm equipment and in some of the harshest factory environments.

All sensors include serial data communications to connect with SenixVIEW setup software or your equipment. Choose either the RS-232 or RS-485 model, with the following communications format:
Selectable Modbus (default) or ASCII streaming protocols
Baud rates from 9600 (default) to 115200 bps
Many other features, all adjustable using SenixVIEW software
Senix recommends the RS-485 Serial Data Interface unless connecting to an RS-232 device. The benefits of RS-485 over RS-232 include:

Better noise immunity in industrial environments
Allows longer cable lengths at higher baud rates

SenixVIEW PC Software
SenixVIEW is included at no charge, runs on a Windows PC and connects to sensors via a serial data port. Our Setup Kits provide everything needed to connect through a USB port, including power supply, sensor-PC interface and cables. SenixVIEW is not required but adds powerful configuration, test and management capability.

Flood Monitoring
Senix ToughSonic® sensors measure the level of water flowing in streams and rivers. Sensors mounted on bridges, poles, and other structures look down at the water to report flood status.
Open Channel Flow
Open Channel Flow measurement determines the volume of water, effluent or industrial waste flowing through a channel, flume or weir. Flumes and weirs are hydraulic structures within which the liquid flow rate is determined by measuring the height of the liquid flowing through the structure. That height is converted to flow using an equation specific to the structure. Positioned at the required location, ToughSonic sensors measure the liquid height by non-contact distance measurement looking down at the liquid surface.

Senix ultrasonic sensors also assist in fertilizer application, and help monitor crops, and can also be utilized in a variety of vehicle applications in agriculture, construction, and municipality vehicles including improving safety by alerting operators of obstacles and moving vehicles in their immediate surroundings. The ruggedness of Senix ToughSonic ultrasonic Distance and Level sensors to temperature, shock, and vibration makes them extremely well suited suitable for outdoor applications.
Tank Liquid Level Monitoring
Senix non-contact ToughSonic® ultrasonic sensors offer cost-effective, continuous tank level monitoring and measurements for small and large tanks. They install at the top of the tank, are not immersed in the liquid, and can measure both benign and chemical liquids.

SignalFire Remote Monitoring System
The SignalFire Ranger is an IoT (internet of things) cellular transmitter using the latest LTE CAT M1 technology for sensors and fully integrated with SignalFire’s cloud monitoring and alarming services.
